$15k Special Down Payment Help for Johnston County
JoCo home buyers, you may be closer to your goal of home ownership than you thought!
If you’re a first time buyer in Johnston County, North Carolina, you may qualify for $15,000 in down payment assistance.
The $15,000 down payment assistance is funded through the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Hardest Hit Fund. From the Housing Finance Agency website:
If you meet certain criteria, you may qualify for $15,000 in down payment help in the form of a deferred, forgivable, five-year loan at zero interest. This loan is forgiven at a rate of 20% per year each year that you stay in the home, and fully forgiven after year 5.”
Other counties that are eligible are Cabarrus, Cumberland, Guilford, and Mecklenburg. If you know someone in one of these counties that could use this information, feel free to share this with them.
Other Ways To Buy A Home
Even if you’re not purchasing a home in one of these counties or aren’t a first time home buyer, you may still be able to get help to buy a home.
Two other programs to consider are the NC Home Advantage Mortgage and the Mortgage Credit Certificate.
